"Organised around a multiannual Framework Programme composed of various RTD and demonstration programmes, Community RTD policy promotes co-operation with and between companies, research centres and universities with a view to reinforcing the scientific and technological foundations of industry and its competitiveness on the world stage. It also aims at co-operation with third countries and international organisations, diffusion and utilisation of RTD policy results and stimulation of training and mobility of the researchers of the Community."
