Changes in the distribution of activities on a certain territory  and the linkages between them in terms of the land-use and development. Spatial processes are of enormous relevance to sustainable development, as the three dimensions of sustainability (economic, social, environmental) are closely interlinked in spatial planning. Spatial development policy must achieve an equal balance between spatial conditions for business, efficient infrastructures, an economic usage of land and the protection of natural resources, as well as social and geographical cohesion.
