kystnærhedszone
national definition:Det er anset af national interesse at de danske kyster bevares som åbne kyststrækninger. I planloven er der derfor siden 1981 særlige regler for planlægning indenfor den i princippet 3 km brede kystnærhedszonen. Kystnærhedszonen er dog ikke en forbudszone, men det er afgørende at udviklingen sker med respekt for kystlandskabet. Planloven indeholder derfor krav om, at kystområderne skal friholdes for bebyggelse og anlæg, som ikke er afhængige af en placering tæt på kysten. Inden for kystnærhedzonen kan der derfor kun inddrages nye arealer i byzone eller planlægges i landzone, hvis der er en særlig planlægningsmæssig eller funktionel begrundelse for kystnær placering. Derudover må der heller ikke udlægges nye sommerhusområder og de eksisterende sommerhusområder skal fastholdes til ferieformål.

Preserving Denmark’s coast as open stretches of coast is considered of national interest. For this reason, planning legislation has contained special regulations since 1981 for planning within a designated coastal zone that is theoretically 3 km wide. However, development is not prohibited in the designated coastal zone but development must take place with respect for the coastal landscape. As a result, Denmark’s coastal areas are to be kept as free as possible of development and installations that do not need to be located near the coast. Within the designated coastal zone, land may only be transferred to an urban zone or planning conducted for development in a rural zone if there is a specific planning-related or functional justification for location near the coast. In addition, new summer cottage areas may not be designated, and existing summer cottage areas are to be maintained for solely holiday and leisure purposes.
