Skov- og Naturstyrelsen er en del af Miljøministeriet. Styrelsen varetager en række af de statslige opgaver, som miljøministeren har ansvaret for, bl.a. inden for naturbeskyttelse og skovbrug. Skov- og Naturstyrelsen rådgiver også ministeren og regeringen i plansager. Styrelsen administrerer planloven og fungerer som statens faglige enhed for fysisk planlægning. Desuden står styrelsen for drift og administration af de statsejede skove samt Miljøministeriets øvrige arealer.

The Danish Forest and Nature Agency is part of the Ministry of the Environment. The Agency carries out some of the tasks for which the Minister for the Environment is responsible, such as nature protection and forestry. The Danish Forest and Nature Agency also advises the Minister and the Government of Denmark about planning issues. The agency administers the Planning Act and functions as the state’s technical unit for spatial planning. Further, the Agency is responsible for operating and administering the forests owned by the state and other properties owned by the Ministry of the Environment.
