Infrastruktuuri objektideks on maateed, raudteed, sadamad, elektriliinid, torujuhtmed ja teised tehnilise infrastruktuuri rajatised. Planeeringud määravad infrastruktuuri objektide asukoha. Vastavalt planeerimisseadusele on üheks üleriigilise planeeringu eesmärgiks üleriigilise transpordivõrgustiku kujundamine ning tehniliste infrastruktuuride arengu suunamine, ning üheks maakonnaplaneeringu eesmärgiks määrata teede, raudteede, veeteede ja tehnovõrkude koridoride, lennuväljade, sadamate ja jäätmete ladestamise kohtade ning muude tehnorajatiste paigutus. Üldplaneeringud ja detailplaneeringud peavad samuti määrama teede ja tänavate, raudteede, sadamate ja lennuväljade ning põhiliste tehnovõrkude trasside ja tehnorajatiste asukoha.

Infrastructure facilities are roads, railroads, ports, electricity lines, pipelines, and other facilities of technical infrastructure. Spatial plans determine the location of infrastructure facilities. According to Planning Act, one of the objectives of the national spatial plan is to direct the creation of a national transport network and the development of technical infrastructures, and one of the objectives of a county plan is to determine the location of roads, railway lines, waterways, utility network routes, airports, ports, sites for the final disposal of waste and other technical infrastructure. Comprehensive and detailed plans should define the location of principal utility network routes and technical infrastructure as well.
