Planeeringuvaidlus lähtub vastuväitest planeerimisettepanekule või kehtestatud planeeringule. Vaidlus võib olla seotud planeeringu sisuga või siis planeeringu menetlemise korrektsusega. Vaidluse lahendab kokkulepe vaidluspoolte vahel, järelevalveorgani otsus või kohtulahend.

An activity resulting from the objection to a planning proposal or an adopted plan. A dispute could be related to the content of a plan or to the accuracy of the planning procedures. A dispute can be solved by an agreement between the participants of the dispute, by a decision of a supervisiong authority, or in a court.
