Planeerimisseadus pakub võimaluse sundvõõrandamise kohaldamiseks planeeringu elluviimiseks. Seadus ütleb, kehtestatud üldplaneeringu või detailplaneeringu elluviimiseks võidakse kohaldada kinnisasja sundvõõrandamist kinnisasja sundvõõrandamise seaduses  ettenähtud alustel ja korras.

Planning Act gives possibility for the application of expropriation to implement plan. It says that in order to implement an adopted comprehensive plan or detailed plan, an immovable may be expropriated on the bases and pursuant to the procedure prescribed by the Immovables Expropriation Act.
