Territoorium on piiritletud maapinna osa, mida iseloomustab mingi rohkem või vähem spetsiifiline korraldatus, nt halduslik. Eesti territoorium on halduslikult jagatud maakondadeks, valdadeks ja linnadeks. Vallad võivad olla täiendavalt jagatud osavaldadeks ja linnad linnaosadeks. Planeeringute koostamine toimub Eestis üldjuhul vastavalt riigi haldus-territoriaalsele jaotusele.

A parcel of land, which has boundaries and certain more or less specific organisation of practices, e.g. administrative organisation. The territory of Estonia is divided administratively into counties, rural municipalities and cities. Also, rural municipality districts or city districts may be formed in a rural municipality or city. The preparation of spatial plans is arranged according to administrative-territorial division of Estonia.
