national term:

tuumikala

national definition:

Tuumikalasid saab eristada erinevatel ruumilistel nähtustel. Üleriigiline planeering käsitleb kahte tüüpi tuumikala - sotsiaal-majanduslikke ja asustuse tuumikalasid (pealinna regioon ning alad teiste suuremate linnade asukohas) ning rohelise võrgustiku tuumikalasid. Viimast tüübi tuumikala identifitseerimiseks kasutatakse üleriigilises planeeringus kahte kriteeriumit - looduslikes tingimustes eksisteeriva ala suurus ja selle looduskaitseline väärtus. Rahvusvahelise tähtsusega tuumikalad on kompaktsed looduslikud alad vähemalt 100 km2 pindalaga. Eestis on 12 sellist tuumala (enamasti sood ja rabad). riikliku tähtsusega tuumikalad on looduslikud alad vähemalt 15 km2 pindalaga. Üleriigilises planeeringus väljendatakse seisukohta, et rahvusvahelise tähtsusega tuumikalad on niivõrd suured, kaitstud kaitsemeetmetega ja asuvad väljaspool peamiste ennustatavate majandushuvide kontsentratsioonialasid, mistõttu nende säilimise osas probleeme ei ole. detailsemates planeeringutes tuleks tähelepanu pöörata riikliku tähtsusega tuumikaladele ja rohelistele koridoridele, mida kasutavad metsloomad.

english term:

core area

english definition:

Core areas can be distinguished for different spatial phenomena. National Spatial Plan discusses two types of core areas - socio-economic and settlement cores (the capital region and areas where other major cities locate) and core areas of the green network. For identification of core areas of latter type two criteria are used in National Spatial Plan – the size of the area in natural condition and its conservation value. Core areas of international importance are compact natural areas with a territory of at least 100 sq/km. In Estonia these form 12 major core areas (predominantly forests and swamps). Core areas of national importance are natural areas with a territory of at least 15 sq/km.). It is pondered in the plan text that core areas of international importance are so big in size, guarded by protective measures and located beyond the predictable concentration of economic interests in the main, that there will hardly be problems with their survival. On the more detailed planning levels, attention should be paid to preservation of the core areas of national importance and the green corridors usable by wild animals.
