Kiinteistötoimituksessa tapahtuvaa toimintaa, jossa muutetaan kiinteistörekisteriin merkittyjen maanomistuksen yksiköiden jaotusta.
Kiinteistönmuodostus­toimituksia ovat esimerkiksi (määräalan) lohkominen ja (määräosiin) halkominen. Sitovan tonttijaon mukainen tontti muodostetaan lohkomalla tai muulla kiinteistön­muodostamis­toimituksella.

Activity carried out in the cadastral procedure, in which the division of independent units of land ownership (real estate) entered into the Real Estate Register is changed.
Examples of property formation procedures are subdivision and partitioning. A plot in accordance with a binding plot division plan is formed by subdivision or through some other real estate forming procedure.
