Suunnittelukäytäntökielen käsite, mutta sisältyy myös Suomenkin hyväksymään Eurooppalaiseen maisemayleissopimukseen.

Actions to conserve and maintain the significant or characteristic features of a landscape, justified by its heritage value derived from its natural configuration and/or from human activity.
A professional characteristic, but is included also in the European Landscape Convention (20.10.2000), which is ratified also by Finland.
