Poikkeamispäätös (poikkeuslupa, vanha termi)

national definition:

Viranomaisen tekemä päätös hakemuksesta, jolla on haettu poikkeusta lain rakentamista tai muuta toimenpidettä koskevista säännöksistä, määräyksistä, kielloista tai muista rajoituksista.

Poikkeamispäätöstä haetaan pääsääntöisesti kunnalta. Eräissä tapauksissa poikkeamispäätöstä on kuitenkin haettava alueelliselta ympäristökeskukselta.

Deviation decision (exceptional building permission)

english definition:

A decision of authorities concerning an application for a deviation from the provisions, regulations, prohibitions and other restrictions issued in the legislation concerning building or other action.

The deviation decision is applied for from the local authority as a main rule. However, in certain cases, it is applied for from the Regional Environment Centre.
