Rakennuskielto on voimassa enintään kaksi vuotta (asemakaava) tai viisi vuotta (yleiskaava).

english definition:

A temporary and strict prohibition of building imposed by the local authority or directly consequent upon the law, in order to safeguard drafting or amending of a local detailed plan or a local master plan.

A building prohibition is in force for a maximum period of two years (local detailed plan) or of five years (local master plan).
