1) (kapeammassa erityismerkityksessä:) Rantavyöhykettä leveämpi rannan osa, jolla rannassa oleva tai rantaan tukeutuva loma-asutus vaatii järjestämistä. 2) Yleiskäsite meren tai vesistön rannassa sijaitseville alueille.
Meren tai vesistön ranta-alueelle ei saa rakentaa rakennusta ilman asemakaavaa tai sellaista oikeusvaikutteista yleiskaavaa, jossa on erityisesti määrätty yleiskaavan tai sen osan käyttämisestä rakennusluvan myöntämisen perusteena.
Olemassa olevan asutuksen lisäksi ranta-alueen suunnittelu-tarve voi syntyä odotettavissa
olevan rakentamisen vuoksi.
Ranta-alue ulottuu rantaviivasta
sisämaahan päin niin pitkälle kuin rakentaminen tukeutuu vesistön käyttöön tai
vetovoimaan. Ranta-alueen leveys on usein arvioitu noin 200 metriksi, mutta maisemasta ja muista olosuhteista riippuen se voi olla leveämpikin.
Shore area
english definition:
A part of a shore broader than a shore zone, where the at the shore situated or shore-based holiday homes needs to be arranged.
Buildings may not be constructed in shore areas of the sea or of a body of water without a local detailed plan or a legally binding local master plan which contains special provisions concerning use of the local master plan or a part thereof as the basis for granting a building permit.
Besides the existing settlement, a need for planning in the shore area may arise because of the anticipated building development in the area.
A shore area extends from the shoreline towards the inland as far as the building is based on the use or attractiveness of the body of waters. The width of the shore area is often estimated as 200 meters, but depending on the landscape and other conditions it may be even more wide.
