Ranta-asemakaava

national definition:

Pääasiassa loma-asutuksen järjestämiseksi laadittava ranta-alueita koskeva asemakaava.
Ranta-asemakaavan laatii joko kunta tai maanomistaja, ja hyväksyy kunta.
Vuodesta 1997 lähtien rakentamista meren tai vesistön rantavyöhykkeelle ei ole sallittu, ellei aluetta ole erityisesti osoitettu tähän tarkoitukseen aiemmin hyväksytyissä kaavoissa.
Vanhassa rakennuslaissa (ennen 1.1.2000) käytettiin nimitystä rantakaava. Rantakaavan kuitenkin laati aina maanomistaja.

Detailed shore plan

english definition:

A local detailed plan concerning shore areas, drawn up to arrange mostly for holiday homes.
A detailed shore plan is drawn up either by the local authority or by a landowner, and approved by the local authority.
Since 1997, building has not been permitted along shorelines unless they have been specifically designated for building in previously approved plans.
In the old Building Act (valid till 1.1.2000) a term of "shore plan" was used. However, it was only drawn up by the landowner.
