Naturlandschaft

Als Naturlandschaft bezeichnet man eine von unmittelbaren menschlichen Aktivitäten unbeeinflusst gebliebene Landschaft, die lediglich auf dem Zusammenwirken der derzeit herrschenden naturbedingten ökologischen Faktoren beruht. Naturlandschaften gibt es nur noch in dünn besiedelten Gebieten. In Naturschutzgebieten und Nationalparken wird versucht, naturlandschaftsnahe Räume zu erhalten und ihre Entwicklung zur Naturlandschaft hin zu fördern. Das Gegenteil von Naturlandschaften bzw. naturnahen Landschaften sind Kulturlandschaften.

natural landscape

Natural landscapes are those landscapes which have remained unaffected by direct human intervention or activity, and which have evolved simply through the interplay of the prevailing natural and ecological factors. Natural landscapes are today only to be found in sparsely populated areas. An effort is made in nature conservation areas and national parks to preserve near-natural landscapes and develop them into natural landscapes. Natural and near-natural landscapes contrast with cultural landscapes (man-made landscapes).
