Visu veidu aizsargjoslas nosaka vietējo pašvaldību teritoriju plānojumos, ievērojot normatīvo aktu prasības. Aizsargjoslu robežas jāatzīmē zemes gabalu plānos un jāieraksta zemesgrāmatā Aizsargjoslu likuma noteiktajā kārtībā. Ja nav izstrādāts teritorijas plānojums, vietējā pašvaldība nodrošina aizsargjoslu robežu noteikšanu, kā arī iesniedz šīs ziņas Valsts zemes dienestam aizsargjoslu iezīmēšanai zemes robežu plānos. Gadījumos, kad vienā vietā pārklājas vairāku veidu aizsargjoslas, spēkā ir stingrākās prasības un lielākais minimālais platums. Visu veidu rīcība šajās vietās jāsaskaņo ieinteresētajām institūcijām.

establishment and overlapping of protection zones (shelter belts)

All types of protection zones (shelter belts) is determined in territorial local government spatial plans pursuant to the requirements of regulatory enactments.The borders of the protection zones shall be marked in land area plans and recorded in the Land Register in accordance with the procedures set out in the Protection Zones Law. If the spatial plan has not been developed, the territorial local government shall ensure the specification of the borders of the protection zone, as well as shall submit this information to the State Land Service for the marking of the protection zones in land boundary maps. In cases of the overlapping of several kinds of protection zones at one place, the stricter requirements and larger minimum width shall be in effect. All kinds of action in such places shall be co-ordinated with the institutions concerned.
