national definition:Arheoloģiskais mantojums ir Eiropas kolektīvās atmiņas avots un vēsturisko un zinātnisko pētījumu līdzeklis. Par arheoloģiskā mantojuma elementiem jāuzskata visas atliekas, priekšmeti un citas cilvēces pagātnes pēdas, kuru saglabāšana un izpēte palīdz izsekot cilvēces vēsturei un tās attiecībām ar dabisko vidi; par kurām galvenā informācija tiek iegūta arheoloģiskos izrakumos vai atklājumos, vai lietojot citas zinātniski-pētnieciskas metodes cilvēces vēstures un ar to saistītās vides pētniecībai, un kuras atrodas valstu jurisdikcijā. Arheoloģiskais mantojums ietver konstrukcijas, ēkas, ēku grupas, labiekārtotas teritorijas, pārvietojamus objektus, cita veida pieminekļus, kā arī to kontekstu gan sauszemē, gan zem ūdens. english definition:Archaeological heritage is a source of the European collective memory and an instrument for historical and scientific study. Elements of the archaeological heritage can be considered all remains and objects and any other traces of mankind from past epochs: the preservation and study of which help to retrace the history of mankind and its relation with the natural environment; for which excavations or discoveries and other methods of research into mankind and the related environment are the main sources of information; and which are located in any area within the jurisdiction of the countries. The archaeological heritage includes structures, constructions, groups of buildings, developed sites, moveable objects, monuments of other kinds as well as their context, whether situated on land or under water.
