Bioloģiskā daudzveidība nozīmē dzīvo organismu formu dažādību visās vidēs, tai skaitā sauszemes, jūras un citās  ūdens ekosistēmās un ekoloģiskajos kompleksos, kuru  sastāvdaļas tās ir. Tā ietver daudzveidību sugas ietvaros, starp sugām un starp ekosistēmām.
