national definition:Centru apbūves teritorija nozīmē zemesgabalus, kur primārais zemes, būvju vai to daļu izmantošanas veids ir intensīva jaukta apbūve ar daudzveidīgām funkcijām (komerciāla rakstura darījumu iestādes: bankas, viesnīcas, biroji un kantori, gadatirgi, konferenču un izstāžu iestādes, kā arī tirdzniecības un pakalpojumu objekti), arī dzīvojamo funkciju, izslēdzot ražošanas funkcijas. Izšķir vēsturisko centru apbūves teritorijas, jauno centru attīstības teritorijas un vietējos centrus. english definition:Territories of urban centers means land plots, where primary utilization type of land, structure or part thereof is intensive mixed building with various functions (business institutions of commercial character: banks, hotels, bureaus and offices and fairs, exhibitions, institutions of congress and conferences, as well as shopping and service objects), also with the living function, excluding any functions of production. Territories of urban centers includes historical centre, development territories of new centers and local centers. Purposes, on which the structures on land intended for the urban centers may be allowed to built, rebuilt, established or utilized, are business institution, shopping and service objects, (special) educational institution, administrative institution, cultural institution, scientific institution, sport building, greenery, fuel station, apartment as ancillary utilization, individual work, multi-storey multi-apartment house, children preschool institution, medical treatment institution, social care institution.
