Eiropas ainavu konvencija

2000.gada 19.jūlijā Eiropas Padomes Ministru komiteja akceptēja Eiropas ainavu konvenciju un nolēma aicināt Eiropas Padomes dalībvalstis tai pievienoties. Eiropas ainavu konvencija cenšas aizpildīt juridisko vakuumu ko rada Eiropas līmenī neesoša īpaša visaptveroša juridiska teksta, kas veltīts Eiropas ainavu aizsardzībai, apsaimniekošanai un uzlabošanai starp citiem politikas instrumentiem vides, reģionālās plānošanas un kultūras mantojuma jomā. Eiropas ainavu konvencijas mērķi ir veicināt ainavu aizsardzību, pārvaldību un plānošanu, kā arī organizēt sadarbību par ainavu jautājumiem Eiropā.

European Landscape Convention

On 19 July 2000, the Council of Europe's Committee of Ministers adopted the European Landscape Convention and decided to open it for signature to the Council of Europe's Member States. The European Landscape Convention tries to fill the legal vacuum caused by the absence, at European level, of a specific, comprehensive reference text devoted entirely to the conservation, management and improvement of European landscapes in the international legal instruments on the environment, regional planning and the cultural heritage. The aims of the European Landscape Convention are to promote landscape protection, management and planning, and to organise European co-operation on landscape issues.
