Iela - zeme, būve, vai tās daļa, kas plānota un izmantota satiksmes nodrošināšanai apdzīvotas vietās - pilsētās un ciemos, un vietējās satiksmes pievadīšanai lielceļiem. Iela ietver teritoriju ielu sarkanajās līnijās un krustojumus ar vietējām ielām un piebrauktuvēm, bet neietver krustojumus ar lielceļiem. Iela ir publiskās ārtelpas izbūves teritorija, ko plānā ierobežo sarkanās līnijas, bet telpiski - apbūve vai apstādījumi un kas galvenokārt paredzēta gājēju un transporta satiksmei un inženiertehniskās apgādes tīklu un būvju izvietošanai. Street - land, structure or its part that planned or used for transport flows in settlements - cities, towns and villages, and for feeding local transport flows to the main roads. Street comprises territory within the red lines and crossings with local streets and access roads, but do not include crossings with main roads. Street is a built-up territory of the public outdoor space, which shall be restricted by the red lines in the plan, but spatially - by the building or greenery, and which mainly is provided for the location of pedestrian and transport traffic and the engineering supply networks and structures as well. Within the borders of street the greenery may be established as well.
