Swedenmežu aizsargjoslas ap pilsētām
national definition:Mežu aizsargjoslas ap pilsētām tiek noteiktas, lai nodrošinātu pilsētu iedzīvotājiem atpūtai un veselības uzlabošanai nepieciešamos apstākļus, kā arī lai samazinātu vai kompensētu pilsētu negatīvo ietekmi uz vidi. Aizsargjoslā ir aizliegta kailcirte. Meža aizsargjoslu ap pilsētu nosaka saskaņā ar līgumu, ko noslēdz attiecīgās pilsētas dome un pašvaldība (citas pilsētas, novada domes vai pagasta padomes), kuras teritorija ietilpst aizsargjoslā. Kopējo aizsargjoslas platību nosaka pēc šādiem kritērijiem: pilsētām ar iedzīvotāju skaitu līdz 10 tūkstošiem — ne vairāk kā 100 hektāru; pilsētām ar iedzīvotāju skaitu no 10 tūkstošiem līdz 100 tūkstošiem — ne vairāk kā 1500 hektāru; un pilsētām ar iedzīvotāju skaitu, lielāku par 100 tūkstošiem, — ne vairāk kā 15000 hektāru.

english definition:Forest protection zones around cities shall be specified in order to ensure the necessary conditions for recreational activities and health improvement for the inhabitants of a city, as well as to decrease or compensate the negative effects of cities on the environment.The forest clear cutting is forbidden in the forest protection zones around the cities. The protection zones are determined in accordance with agreement between the respective city or town and the local government that are included in the protection zone. Total area of the protection zone are determined as the follows for towns up to 10 thousand inhabitants - not more than 100 hectares; for towns with populations from 10 to 100 thousands - not more than 1500 hectares and for cities with inhabitants more than 100 thousands - not more than 15000 hectares.
