Migrācija ir iedzīvotāju pārcelšanās dzīvot citā apdzīvotā vietā vai valstī.
Iedzīvotāju migrāciju ir ļoti grūti mērīt. Eiropas Savienības dalībvalstīs izmanto daudz dažādus datu avotus un definīcijas, un tas nozīmē, ka valstu statistikas datu tieša salīdzināšana var būt sarežģīta un maldinoša. Migrācijas saldo rādītāji, ko aprēķinājis Eiropas Savienības statistikas birojs Eurostat, nav tieši iegūti no imigrācijas un emigrācijas plūsmu vērtībām. Tā kā daudzās ES dalībvalstīs nav pilnīgu un salīdzināmu datu par imigrācijas un emigrācijas plūsmām, 2006. gada statistikas gadagrāmatā migrācijas saldo ir aplēsts kā starpība starp kopējo iedzīvotāju skaita pārmaiņu un dabisko pieaugumu gada laikā. Migration is a resettling of population to live in other settlement or country.
Migration can be extremely difficult to measure. A variety of different data sources and definitions are used in the Member States, meaning that direct comparisons between national statistics can be difficult or misleading. The net migration figures calculated by EUROSTAT are not directly calculated from immigration and emigration flow figures. As many EU Member States do not have complete and comparable figures for immigration and emigration flows, net migration is estimated in the 2006 Statistical yearbook as the difference between the total population change and the ‘natural increase' over the year.
