Swedenpiesardzības princips
national definition:Piesardzības princips nozīmē, ka ir pieļaujams ierobežot vai aizliegt darbību vai pasākumu, kurš var ietekmēt vidi vai cilvēku veselību, bet kura ietekme nav pietiekami izvērtēta vai zinātniski pierādīta, ja aizliegums ir samērīgs līdzeklis, lai nodrošinātu vides vai cilvēku veselības aizsardzību. Principu neattiecina uz neatliekamiem pasākumiem, ko veic, lai novērstu kaitējuma draudus vai neatgriezenisku kaitējumu. Piesardzības princips nosaka, ka fiziskajām un juridiskajām personām ir pienākums, cik iespējams, samazināt antropogēno slodzi, kas rodas vai var rasties to darbības rezultātā. Tas nozīmē, lai novērstu vides kaitējumu, rīkoties uzreiz, negaidot, kamēr zinātniskie pierādījumi tiks ievākti, lai tādejādi novērstu nozīmīgu potenciālo kaitējumu.

english definition:The precautionary principle means that there is possibility to impose restrictions or to ban an activity that might impact the environment or human health, when its impacts are not adequately assessed or scientifically approved, if such prohibition is commensurate instrument to ensure the protection of the environment or human health. This principle has no bearing on measures that are implemented to avert the threatening or irreversible harm to the environment. The principle requires that a natural or legal person has a duty to reduce to the extent possible the anthropogenic load, which occurs or may occur as a result of their activities. That means taking action now before the scientific evidence is acquired, in thus to avoid possible greater environmental damage.
