Reģionālā attīstība ir īslaicīgie visas Latvijas un katra tās reģiona dabas un kultūrvides, sociālās un saimnieciskās attīstības procesi. Izšķir pašattīstības reģionālā attīstība procesu, kas balstīts uz vietējiem resursiem un apstākļiem, un mērķtiecīgi vadītos reģionālā attīstība procesus, kurus nosaka valsts un pašvaldību reģionālā attīstība politika. Reģionālajai attīstībai ir galvenokārt ekonomiska orientācija, bet tā var ietvert arī sociālus un kultūras apsvērumus.

regional development

Regional development is productive changes in the social and economic situation in the entire territory of the State or separate parts thereof. Regional development is short-term nature, culture, social and economical development processes in Latvia and its each region. Regional development is considered as both the endogenous growth in the region by using its own local resources and conditions and the purposefully guided activities leading to that increase that are defined by the national and local regional policy. Regional development has a strong economic orientation, although it may also include social and cultural considerations.
