"Agenda 21" ir globāla rīcības programma pasaules sabiedrības ilgtspējīgai attīstībai, ieejot XXI gadsimtā, kura pieņemta 1992. gadā Riodežaneiro vairāk nekā 170 valstu vadītāju līmenī notikušajā ANO konferencē "Vide un attīstība". Rīcības programmā saskaņotas visu pasaules reģionu valstu nacionālās intereses un starptautiskās vajadzības, izceļot četras galvenās sadaļas: sociālo un ekonomisko attīstības resursu saglabāšana un pārvalde, dabas vides attīstība, sabiedrības pamatgrupu lomu un līdzdalības stiprināšana, programmas ieviešanas institucionālie un finasiālie instrumenti.

Agenda 21" is a 720-page document agreed at the UN Conference on Environment and Development held in Rio de Janeiro in 1992. It covered in some detail the measures needed to ensure sustainable development. The document outlined broad strategies for combation problems such as over-consumption of non-renewable resources, loss of biodiversity, air, land and marine pollution and toxic wastes.
