Vietējās rīcības grupa ir vietējo organizāciju un lauku iedzīvotāju apvienība, kas darbojas noteiktā lauku teritorijā, pārstāv šīs teritorijas iedzīvotāju intereses un rūpējas par lauku attīstības jautājumiem vietējā līmenī. Vietējai rīcības grupai ir raksturīgs plaši pārstāvētu interešu loks un piesaiste konkrētai teritorijai uz ciešas sadarbības principiem. Piemērota vietējās rīcības grupas struktūra rada iespēju izmantot integrētāku un plašāku sadarbības modeli, apvienojot to ar dažādo partneru iespējām un nākotnes perspektīvām. Tas palīdz grupā mobilizēt jaunu domāšanu un ieskatus par lauku pagrimuma cēloņiem, kā arī apvienot esošos un jaunos resursus, lai rastu risinājumus. Vietējās rīcības grupā plaši tiek pārstāvētas arī kopienas. Veiksmīgu vietējās rīcības grupu raksturo ne tik daudz līdzīgi domājošu cilvēku, cik dažādi domājošu cilvēku spēja diskutēt, izteikt savas intereses, aizstāvēt savas vērtības un principus un panākt savstarpēju izpratni un vienošanos.

Local Action Group

Local Action Group is a partnership of local organizations and rural inhabitants operating in a certain rural territory with number of population, representing the interests of population within this territory and involved in rural development issues on local level. It is characterized by a wide circle of represented interests and attachment to definite territory on principles of close co-operation. Appropriately set up local Action Group Structure allows the use of more integrated and extensive co-operation model, combining it with capabilities of different partners and future prospects. That helps to generate new ways of thinking and opinions within the group on reasons of rural decline, as well as to combine the existing and new resources for finding the solutions. Local Action Groups are widely represented also on the community level. Successful Local Action Groups are characterized not so much by many people sharing similar opinions than by many people having different views yet able to discuss them, express their interests, defend their values and arrive at mutual understanding and agreement.
