Darnus vystymasis

"Darnus vystymasis - Labai dažnai planavimą reglamentuojančiuose dokumentuose ir pačiuose planuose naudojamas terminas. Bendrųjų planų rengimo taisyklės, pavyzdžiui, reikalauja atlikti visų bendrųjų planų sprendinių poveikio vystimosi darnai vertinimą. Bendruosiuose planuose deklaruojama, kad darnus vystymas yra jų tikslas.
Terminas naudojamas ne tiktai teritorijų planavimo, bet ir kituose valstybiniuose dokumentuose (pvz., Lietuvos subalansuoto vystymo strategijoje) Lietuvos statistikos departamentas apibrėžia terminą taip: „Darnus vystymasis - tai visuomenės vystymasis, sudarantis galimybes pasiekti visuotinę gerovę dabartinei ir ateinančioms kartoms, siekiant kompromiso tarp aplinkosauginių, ekonominių ir socialinių visuomenės tikslų ir neviršijant leistinų poveikio aplinkai ribų".

Sustainable development

"Sustainable development - The term mostly used in the plans and documents regulating planning. For instance, the Regulations for the Drafting of Master Plans require performing the assessment of the impact of the solutions of master plans on sustainability of the development. The focus of master plans is on sustainable development.
The term is used not only in territorial planning, but also in other state documents (e.g. in the Lithuanian Strategy of Sustainable Development). Lithuanian Department of Statistics defines the term "sustainable development" as "development of the society providing opportunities to reach the welfare for the present and future generations by harmonizing environmental, economic and social objectives of the society without exceeding allowable limits of environmental impact."
