Generell samlekategori av forskjellige lovfestede sakstyper vedrørende byggeprosjekter som krever melding  eller full byggesøknad og byggetillatelse og rivetillatelse fra  byggesaksmyndighetene før de kan komme til gjennomføring, se dette.  

Departementet kan i forskrift gjøre unntak fra bestemmelsene om full byggesaksbehandling. Gjennom forskrift kan også departementet gi bestemmelser om behandlingen av prosjekter som i utgangspunktet bare krever melding.

Building permits application

Statutory term for document formulated as an application to the municipal building authority for projects that require building permission. The building application is a description of the building project according to formal specifications. Responsible applicant is responsible for the formulation of the application, but both the Responsible applicant (cf.) and the developer will have to sign the application.

A building permits application can be staged in a way that makes it possible to present information concerning projecting, building works and control after the issuance of the general permission, cf. Building permission. The same is the case when applying for a grant as Responsible applicant and Responsible contractor (cf.).
