Byplan

national definition:

 Profesjonsrelatert karakteristikk av plantype for fysisk utvikling i byområder. Byplan er ingen lovfestet plantype i plansystemet.  Men begrepet blir ofte brukt av planleggere i forbindelse med planlegging i tettbebyggelse over en viss folkemengde. Som sådan inngår begrepet i fagterminologien. I byplanlegging anvendes de vanligste lovfestete plantypene som kommuneplanens arealdel (også  kommunedelplan), men spesielt reguleringsplan samt bebyggelsesplan.

english definition:

Professional termed plan category for the physical development of urban areas.Urban plan is no statutory category in the planning system. However, the term is commonly used among planners in relation to planning in urban areas of a certain population. As such the term is included in the professional vocabulary. The Land use part of the municipal master plan (including the partial variant), and particularly the Zoning plan and the Building development plan are the main statutory plan categories for planning in urban areas.
