Forurensningskontroll 

national definition:

Generell betegnelse på overvåkingen av forurensningsnivået i jord, vann og luft, og kontrollen med utslipp og avfallshåndtering. Forurensning er forstått som: (1) tilførsel av fast stoff, væske eller gass i luft, vann eller i grunnen, (2) støy og rystelser,(3) lys og annen stråling i den utstrekning forurensningsmyndigheten bestemmer, (4) påvirkning av temperaturen. Statens forurensningstilsyn er overordnet kontrollmyndighet.

Pollution control  

english definition:

 General term for monitoring of levels of pollution in ground, water and air, and the control of contamination and handling of waste disposal. By pollution is meant, cf. Pollution Control Act: (1) the introduction of solids, liquids or gases to air, water and ground. (2) noise and vibrations. (3) light and other radiation to the extent decided by the pollution control authority, (4) effects on temperature, which cause or might cause damage or nuisance to the environment. The State Pollution Inspectorate is the supreme control authority.
