Ved regulativ kan det fastsettes gebyr for behandling av søknad om deling, tillatelse, utferding av attester, behandling av eksterne planforslag og for andre arbeid som det etter plan- og bygningsloven, dens forskrifter og vedtekter påhviler kommunen å utføre. I gebyret kan det inkluderes utgifter til nødvendig bruk av sakkyndig bistand i forbindelse med bygningskontroll. Tiltakshaver kan selv sørge for de nødvendige utredninger i denne forbindelse. Utførelse av denne type offentlige tjenester kan gjøres betinget av at gebyr er innbetalt.Ved regulativ kan også fastsettes gebyr for avskrifter og attester fra særlige skjønnsretter. Regulativene vedtas av kommunestyret.Eier av anlegg eller installasjoner skal betale gebyr for kostnader til behandling av søknad om driftstillatelse og for driftskontroll til vedkommende myndighet. Gebyr for driftskontroll kan helt eller delvis dekkes ved årsavgift.

The developer may himself arrange for the necessary surveys.A scale may also be established for fees for the transcripts of certificates from the special courts of assessments.
