Allmenn betegnelse for å karakterisere bygning brukt til opphold og bolig for fritidsformål, se fritidsbebyggelse.Hytter kan omfatte bygninger med svært ulike bruksformål, og kan følgelig ha svært forskjellig standard, teknisk som arealmessig. I økende grad bygges moderne hytter som bruksalternativ til permanent bolig og vil følgelig tendere mot ekvivalerende standard.

Leisure cabin; second home

General term for characterizing buildings used for leisure or recreational living, cf. Built-up areas for leisure purposes.
Terminologically, leisure cabins can be buildings for very different purposes of use. Accordingly the technical as well the functional standard might differ substantially. To increasing extents, modern cabins are built as an alternative to the household’s permanent dwelling and will therefore tend to equivalent standards.
