Trafikkplanlegging

  Generell betegnelse på planlegging for styring av trafikkstrømmer, i utgangspunktet uansett transportmiddel, gods- eller persontransport og grupper av trafikanter. Den offentlige trafikkplanleggingen er organisert kommunalt, men i en separat enhet. Koordineringen i forhold til den ordinære byplanleggingen forgår spesielt i forbindelse med regulering av arealbruk som påvirker tilgjengelighet, trafikkmengder, sikkerhet, parkering og miljø.  Planleggingen for trafikken på transportinfrastruktur i statlig eie foregår innenfor respektive sektorer.

Traffic management

General characterization of planning for the management of traffic flows, basically without regard to means of convenience, transportation of goods or people, or groups of travelers. This public management of traffic is organized within municipalities in separate agencies. The coordination towards the ordinary urban planning is mainly carried out under the zoning of land uses that will have an impact on accessibility, traffic volumes, traffic safety, parking and the environment. The management of traffic on state transportation infrastructure takes place within the respective state sectors, cf. County transportation plan, Sectoral planning.
