W Polsce uprawnienia są wymagane przy wykonywaniu samodzielnych funkcji w budownictwie i projektowaniu, w planowaniu przestrzennym, przy sporządzaniu ocen i prognoz dotyczących środowiska przyrodniczego, prac geodezyjnych i innych.
