Wojewoda

Organ administracji rządowej w województwie. Przedstawiciel Rady Ministrów w terenie. Zwierzchnik zespolonej administracji rządowej i koordynator działań administracji niezespolonej (np. skarbowej) w województwie. Nadto reprezentant Skarbu Państwa oraz organ nadzoru nad samorządem terytorialnym. Wojewodę powołuje i odwołuje Prezes rady Ministrów na wniosek ministra właściwego do spraw administracji publicznej.

Voivode

An organ of public administration in a voivodship. A local representative of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Poland. Superior to the consolidated public administration and coordinator of the actions of the non-consolidated administration (e.g. tax) in a voivodship. Moreover the voivode is the representative of the State Treasury and the supervisory agency towards the territorial self-government. The voivode is appointed and dismissed by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Poland upon a motion of the proper minister for public administration affairs (The Minister of Interior).
