Bostadsrätt

Den som bor i en bostadsrätt har nyttjanderätt till en lägenhet genom innehav av andel i en förening (bostadsrättsförening) som äger och förvaltar bostadshuset i vilket lägenheten ligger. Utöver insatsen vid övertagandet av bostadsrätten tillkommer en avgift för själva nyttjandet (månads- eller årsavgift). Bostadsrätt får endast upplåtas till medlem i bostadsrättsförening. En bostadsrätt kan i princip överlåtas fritt.

english definition:

Residents of a flat in a cooperative housing society have a right of use of a flat through the ownership of a share of a society (cooperative housing society) that owns and manages the residential building in which the flat is situated. In addition to the down-payment at the take-over of the flat, there is a charge for the actual use (monthly or annual charge). A flat can only be made available to a member of a cooperative housing society. In principle, a flat in a cooperative housing society can be transferred freely.
