Miljöbalken (MB)

national definition:

Från och med januari 1999 har Sverige en ny miljölagstiftning - Miljöbalken. I miljöbalken samlas lagstiftningen som rör miljön på ett och samma ställe. Miljöbalken ersätter 15 äldre lagar, bland annat naturvårdslagen, naturresurslagen och vattenlagen. Dessutom finns ett antal lagar som är knutna till balken, till exempel plan- och bygglagen och väglagen.

From January 1999 Sweden has had new environmental legislation - the Environmental Code. The Environmental Code gathers environmental legislation in one code. It replaces 15 older laws, including the Nature Conservation Act, the Act on the Management of Natural Resources and the Water Act. In addition, a number of laws are connected to the code, for example the Planning and Building Act and the Roads Act.
