Servitut

national definition:

Ett servitut ger en fastighet rätt att utnyttja annan fastighet på ett visst sätt. Det kan t ex gälla rätt till utfartsväg eller att dra fram ledningar på annan fastighet. Servitut kan bildas vid förrättning (officialservitut) eller genom privata avtal (avtalsservitut) och är normalt inte tidsbegränsat. Servitut bildas, ändras och upphävs genom bland annat fastighetsreglering.

english definition:

An easement gives a property the right to use another property in a certain manner. An example can be the right for an access way or to install pipes, lines or conduits on another property. An easement can be formed through a cadastral procedure (legal easement) or through private agreements (contractual easement) and is not normally limited in time. Easements are created, changed and annulled, inter alia, through reallotment.
