Sveriges kommuner och landsting är en gemensam intresse- och arbetsgivarorganisation för Sveriges alla kommuner, landsting och självstyrande regioner. En av de väsentligaste uppgifterna för organisationen är att bevaka kommunernas, landstingens och regionernas intressen gentemot staten och att slå vakt om den lokala självstyrelsen. Verksamheten finansieras dels av medlemsavgifter, dels av intäkter från olika uppdrag, kurs- och konferensverksamhet med mera.

One of its main tasks is to safeguard the interests of the local authorities, county councils and regions vis-à-vis the state and to safeguard local autonomy. It is financed by membership fees and income from commissions, courses, conferences, etc.
