En tomt är ett avgränsat markområde. Området omfattar även sådan mark i direkt anslutning till bebyggelse på tomten som behövs för att bebyggelsen skall kunna användas för avsett ändamål. Detta kan vara till exempel ytor för parkering, kommunikation och utevistelse. En tomt kan utgöra egen fastighet eller del av en fastighet.

A lot (plot, site) is a delimited piece of land. The area also includes such areas directly joining on to the buildings on the lot that are necessary for the purposeful use of the buildings. This can, for example, be parking areas, communication areas or outdoor areas. A lot can be a real property unit or can form part of a part of a real property.
